Wall Rue

Asplenium ruta-muraria, the Wall Rue, is a small, dainty evergreen fern that is a true survivor, often found growing in the crevices of walls and rocks. It forms tiny rosettes of finely divided, grey-green fronds, typically reaching just 10-15cm in height and spread. H6 hardy, it is exceptionally tolerant of dry conditions and thrives in partial shade, even coping with some sun if not too intense. It prefers alkaline, well-drained, gritty substrates. A fascinating miniature fern for a shady rockery, dry stone wall, or crevice garden.
