Marsh Mallow

Marsh Mallow is a stately herbaceous perennial, typically found in damp, marshy areas, renowned for its soft, velvety leaves and delicate flowers. It forms an upright clump, growing to 1-1.5m in height with a spread of 60-90cm. Cup-shaped, pale pink to white flowers, often with darker veins, appear in leafy spikes from mid-summer to early autumn. Marsh Mallow thrives in full sun to partial shade and moist, fertile soil, even tolerating wet conditions. Hardy to H7, it's an excellent choice for a damp border, pond edge, or a naturalistic planting scheme. Historically, extracts from the root were used to make marshmallows.
