Alcea rosea 'Chater's Double Apricot' is a magnificent biennial hollyhock, renowned for its incredibly full, double flowers that resemble crêpe paper pom-poms. These abundant blooms, in a delightful shade of soft apricot-peach, are borne densely along tall, stately spikes, reaching an impressive 1.8-2.4 metres, from mid-summer to early autumn. It creates a stunning vertical statement against walls or at the back of borders in UK gardens. Fully hardy (H6), it thrives in full sun and fertile, well-drained soil. Protect from strong winds and ensure good air circulation to minimise rust. A true cottage garden favourite, attracting bees and butterflies.
