Bugle 'Anneke'
Ajuga reptans 'Anneke' is a vibrant evergreen ground cover highly valued for its intensely coloured foliage. Its leaves display a stunning mix of golden-yellow, orange, and bronze tones, particularly vivid in good light, forming a dense carpet 10-15cm high and spreading to 60cm or more. In spring, short spikes of traditional blue flowers emerge, offering a lovely contrast. This robust cultivar thrives in partial to full shade, with the best leaf colour developing with some morning sun, and prefers moist, well-drained soil. Fully hardy (H6), 'Anneke' is excellent for brightening shady borders, underplanting, or adding year-round colour and texture to containers. It effectively suppresses weeds.
