Indian Horse Chestnut
A large, vigorous deciduous tree, forming a broad, spreading crown up to 20-25m in height and spread. Distinct from the common horse chestnut, it produces magnificent upright panicles of pink-flushed white flowers with yellow and red blotches in early summer. Its large, dark green leaves are divided into 5-7 leaflets. Hardy to H6, it thrives in full sun and deep, fertile, moist but well-drained soil. A superb specimen tree for large gardens and parklands, offering a majestic floral display. Bears large, smooth-shelled seeds unlike the prickly conkers of A. hippocastanum.
