Autumn Snowflake

Leucojum autumnale, the Autumn Snowflake, is an elegant dwarf tuberous perennial that brings a delicate charm to UK gardens in late summer and autumn. Unlike its spring-flowering cousin, this species produces slender, leafless stems topped with several dainty, bell-shaped white flowers, each with faint pink tips. The rush-like foliage typically emerges after the flowers. It thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, making it ideal for rock gardens, gravel beds, or the front of borders where its subtle beauty can be appreciated. This hardy plant is low maintenance and naturalises well, forming charming clumps over time. It provides a welcome touch of elegance when many other plants are fading, extending the season of interest.
