Maries' Fir
An elegant medium-sized fir with a dense, conical habit and short, glossy dark green needles that are conspicuously white beneath with two broad stomatal bands. It is particularly striking when the branches are moved, revealing the silvery undersides. Ultimate height 10-15 metres with a spread of 4-6 metres. Prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic soil. A beautiful, refined specimen tree for woodland gardens or sheltered locations, offering lovely foliage contrast year-round.
