Compact Korean Fir 'Compacta'

Abies koreana 'Compacta' is a beautiful, dwarf evergreen conifer, forming a dense, broadly conical to rounded, often irregular mound of rich green needles, making it an excellent choice for rockeries, small borders, or containers in UK gardens. It is a slow-growing cultivar, typically reaching an ultimate height of 1-1.5 metres with a similar spread. Its short, deep green needles are glossy above and silvery-white beneath, and it produces an abundance of attractive, upright, violet-blue cones, even on young plants. This fir thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic to neutral soils. It is fully hardy, rated H7 by the RHS. Its compact size and early cone production make it a highly desirable ornamental.
