Golden Korean Fir 'Aurea'

Abies koreana 'Aurea' is a sublime slow-growing conifer, highly valued for its striking golden-yellow new growth that gradually matures to a chartreuse-green. This cultivar of the Korean Fir maintains a conical habit, eventually reaching 4-6 metres in height and 2-3 metres in spread, making it suitable for medium-sized gardens. It is relatively hardy (H6) and prefers a sheltered position in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic soil. The vibrant yellow colour is most intense in spring. Like the species, it produces attractive purple-blue cones even on young plants, contrasting beautifully with the foliage. An excellent specimen tree for year-round colour and unique charm.
