Glossy Abelia 'Lucky Lots'
Abelia x grandiflora 'Lucky Lots' is a charming, semi-evergreen shrub that brings light and texture to the garden. It is characterized by its small, glossy, bright green leaves which feature a crisp silver-white margin, giving the whole plant a variegated, shimmering appearance. From mid-summer through to the first frosts of autumn, it bears clusters of small, funnel-shaped, fragrant white flowers that are held in copper-coloured bracts which persist long after the petals have fallen. This cultivar has a naturally mounded, arched habit and is relatively compact, making it suitable for smaller gardens or large containers. It is hardy (H4) but prefers a sheltered spot away from cold, drying winds. It performs best in a sunny position in well-drained soil. In colder UK regions, it may lose its leaves during particularly harsh winters but usually regrows vigorously in spring.
